My name is Andrea, I was born in a town on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. I major in Information Communication, and Technology and minor in Education at FSU. I really enjoy making and appreciating art of all mediums. Now that I have shared these fast facts about me, I am also happy to reveal that I am very excited about this blog!

Since I was young, there has been technology implemented in my educational experiences. When I moved to Florida from Puerto Rico in the 5th grade, I was able to go to a school where the students used computer labs on a daily basis. We used a program called Success Maker, where we practiced reading and math. Success Maker had characters that would show up and help you out with questions and the interface of the program made it seem more like a game. In middle and high school, we used other ways to integrate technology into our learning like Quizlet, Schoology, and Khan Academy where we might even have certain assignments or class lessons in. We also had a fair amount of web Quests, where teachers would compile online resources and websites that could aid each student in teaching themselves the lesson in a more interactive way. Even at FSU, a lot of the homework and supplemental learning for classes requires the use of technology, with programs like Pearson or Zybooks which are interactive textbooks and offer activities to aid in the understanding of the material.

The resources I use that are a part of my personal learning network (PLN) and help me meet my learning goals mainly involve technology. For instance, the Canvas calendar and my outlook calendar keep everything I need in one place and provide links to my assignments to ensure that I am staying on top of things and planning my studying time accordingly. To learn class material I sometimes use resources such as Quizlet, where I can make flashcards that I can review on any device, and I can also share them with my classmates. I find myself using the internet to find forums that may have answers to the doubts I may have with the material I am learning too.
